What Is Slope Function on OLED Rangefinder

The slope function on OLED rangefinder is a feature that provides golfers with an accurate distance measurement that takes into account the slope or angle of the terrain between the golfer and the target. This feature calculates the incline or decline between the golfer's position and the target and adjusts the distance measurement accordingly.
Without the slope function, the rangefinder would only measure the straight-line distance between the golfer and the target, which could lead to incorrect club selection and ultimately affect the golfer's score.
Consider a scenario where the flag is positioned on an upward slope in relation to your position. In such a situation, you would need to hit the ball with more force than usual, as the incline would cause the ball to lose momentum prematurely.
What might seem like a 175-yard shot in theory could, in reality, translate into a 185-yard one, depending on the steepness of the slope. This underscores the importance of the slope function in providing golfers with an accurate assessment of the terrain, enabling them to make informed decisions about their club selection and hit their shots with greater precision.

How To Use Oled Rangefinder When There Is A Slope

When using a rangefinder on a sloped surface, you should be aware of the slope compensation feature, if your device has one. Slope compensation adjusts the distance measurement to account for the uphill or downhill slope between the golfer and the target. When conditions and rules allow, to use a rangefinder with slope compensation, simply turn on slope mode and use the rangefinder as normal. Aim the device, trigger a measurement, and look at the display to see the adjusted distance measurement, taking into account the slope between you and the target.
Some golf organizations and tournaments have restrictions on the use of rangefinders with slope compensation, so it's important to check the rules and regulations before using this feature. By using the slope compensation feature, you can get an adjusted distance measurement that takes into account the uphill or downhill slope and help you make more accurate club selections during your round.

Tips And Tricks For How To Care For Your Oled Rangefinder

Golf rangefinders are valuable tools for any golfer who wants to improve their game, but they also require proper care and maintenance to ensure they perform their best. Like any piece of equipment you use on the course, you should make sure your rangefinder is working before and after each round.
Clean the lenses
The lenses on your golf rangefinder are one of the most critical components. They allow the device to accurately measure distances to targets on the course. To clean the lenses, use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens-cleaning solution. Avoid using abrasive materials, which can scratch the lenses and affect their performance.
Keep it dry
While our golf rangefinders are waterproof, keeping them dry is always a good practice. After use, wipe down the device with a dry cloth, paying particular attention to the lens, battery compartment, and other openings.
Store it properly
Golf rangefinders are tested under extreme conditions to make sure they work any time of year. But any time you're dealing with electronics, it's better to be safe than sorry. When you're not using your golf rangefinder, store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, such as direct sunlight or freezing conditions, which can damage the device's internal components.
Replace the battery
Most golf rangefinders require a battery to operate, so it's essential to replace the battery regularly to ensure optimal performance. Check the manufacturer's instructions to determine the correct battery type and replacement interval.
Use a protective case
Using a protective case can help prevent damage to your rangefinder when not in use or during transportation. Many rangefinding devices come with a carrying case, but you can also purchase one separately.
Avoid dropping or knocking
As we mentioned before, leupold golf rangefinders go through rigorous testing to make sure they will work without fail. But they are electronic instruments that can be damaged by repetitive dropping or knocking. When handling the device, avoid tossing it into your golf bag or onto the ground to extend its life.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific model. The instructions will provide valuable information on proper use, care, and maintenance to help ensure optimal performance and extend the device's lifespan.

Start/Scan
Press the Start/Scan button for a split second to power on your Rangefinder. Once powered on, the Rangefinder will automatically enter power save mode after 10 seconds of inactivity. Touch the Start/Scan button again to restart.
The accuracy of your Rangefinder is +/- 0.5 yd/m for less 300 yd/m, is +/- 1 y/m for more 300 y/m and less 1000 y/m in most situations. The maximum range does depend on surface reflectivity, lighting, and size of target. If the reflectivity surface you are targeting is dull or very small, if you are in high glare conditions, or the angle of approach is overly steep your accuracy and range will be limited. However, in most environmental conditions, your Rangefinder when used properly will provide a highly accurate distance to target.
Adjusting Eyepiece
The Rangefinder has an adjustable eyepiece that allows you to focus the view to your preferences. Simply rotate the eyepiece in right direction until your view is as clear as possible.
Recharging the Battery
Recharge your Rangefinder when the "Low Battery" indicator flashes on your OLCD screen. Although a fully charged battery allows more than 4500 measurements, we recommend you to recharge after each use to avoid interruption of use during a round. Plug in using the USB charging cord at the charging port. The indicator light will shine red verifying the unit is charging. Continue charging until the indicator light shines green.
Magnetic Strip/Adapter
The Rangefinder features a built-in magnetic strip that enables easy click-on/click-off in conjunction with the Rangefinder Adapter.
Choose Your Mode
Your Rangefinder features 3 operational modes.
We highly recommend operation of your unit in Mode 2. To change mode first click the Start/Scan button to turn on, then click the mode button. The mode will change from M1 to M2 to M3. The Mode icon will show in your OLCD on the left side of your screen. Allow 3 seconds of inactivity before attempting to change modes. You may use your Rangefinder to measure distances in either yards or meters. The display will show either a "Y" for yards or an "M" for meters. To change between yards and meters hold the Mode Button down for 3 seconds.
Slope Technology
When in Mode 2 your Rangefinder can adjust for slopes as drastic as 45 degrees. To turn on the slope adjustment function simply move the Slope On/Off button to the desired position. When the slope adjustment is on, your clear-view OLCD will display two different distances. Above the crosshairs will be the actual distance and below the crosshairs will be the adjusted distance compensated for slope. Below the adjusted distance your OLCD will also show the degrees of the slope used for the adjustment.
